Résumé : In the European Union, Spain and Italy are clearly the largest producers of eggplant, bell pepper and zucchini, followed by the Netherlands. The development of production, particularly in Spain and the Netherlands, is in line with demand, as can be seen in the general increase in European imports over the last ten years. In France, while zucchini production remains stable and largely in the lead, production of eggplant and bell pepper is increasing through protected cultivation and yields. This progress is encouraging, considering the growing place occupied by this trio of vegetables in the average household grocery basket, but also the popularity of these vegetables with younger, family-oriented buyers.
